Monday Mustang Message
March 13 – 17, 2023
- March Reading Month continues! Keep encouraging your students to read and mark down their minutes on their weekly Reading Logs. The classes with the most minutes will earn classroom prizes!
- Our next Tuck You In Tuesday video is coming tomorrow night! Miss Christie, our school counselor, will be reading a book to us, so check in on ParentSquare and/or Facebook to listen to the story.
- Tomorrow, Tuesday, is also our monthly Mobile Food Pantry distribution at 3:05pm. Families of Midvale Elementary School students are eligible to pick up a bag of up to 20 pounds of food at that time.
- CAYCI Parent Surveys are being distributed this week. These survey results will help us improve our services, develop community partnerships, and seek grants for increased funding. One packet will go home per family; only one survey per family at Midvale Elementary School needs to be completed and returned in the envelope. If you have already completed the online survey for Midvale Elementary School, please let me know so we can reward your students with a small prize! All students whose parents complete the survey will also be entered into a drawing for bigger prizes!
- Also in backpacks this week, you will find an informational letter about the CAYCI Student Surveys for grades 3-5. This letter details the intent of the survey as well as gives parents an option to have their student “opt-out” of the survey. Please review this letter. Students in grades 3-5 will be taking the survey next week in school.
- This Friday, March 17, is our next Moms Matter session from 8:00-9:00am. Moms, stepmoms, grandmothers, aunts and mom-figures, please join us for a light breakfast with your students. When the bell rings, students will go to class, and our fabulous school counselor, Miss Christie Reynolds, will be talking with us about how parents can increase compliance with their children. Spanish translation will be available; please let us know if you would like an interpreter for another language.
Looking Ahead:
- Tuesday, March 21: PTA Spirit Night at Chick-Fil-A in Midvale from 5-8pm. A portion of the proceeds from the evening will come to our school, so just let them know that you are with Midvale Elementary School!
- Tuesday, March 28: Travel the World: Family Literacy Adventure Night, 6:00-8:00pm
