Chief Example for Others (CEO) Character Trait for March

Lifelong Learning and Personal Growth

Thrive Time Focus of the Week

For Thrive Time lessons this week, we’ll focus on flexible thinking and how it helps us set and accomplish meaningful goals. We’ll learn about the qualities of a good goal, discover what makes a goal SMART, and explore the skills we want to develop to grow even more. These lessons will build on what we’ve practiced about staying focused and having a growth mindset, helping us create clear plans for success!

Families, take time to talk about these ideas with your students at home as well! We can all practice these skills every day!

News from our PTA

🍀 The next PTA meeting is Monday, March 9, 3:30 pm in the school library. All parents are welcome!

🍟🍔 Mark your calendar for McDonald’s Spirit night on Tuesday, March 10, from 5:00-7:00pm. Join us at the McDonald’s at 425 W 7200 S in Midvale! When you make a purchase through the McDonald’s app, in the drive thru, or in store, you help the PTA earn money for our school, for field trips, staff dinners, prizes, and more! Some of our teachers and staff will be at McDonald’s that night to serve you!

Family Matters Books and Breakfast

We will have our next Family Matters event on Friday, March 6, starting at 7:30am. Our theme will be Books and Breakfast in recognition of March Reading Month and Read Across America Week.

Please join us for donuts and reading with your students. We have a fun game for you to play together!

When the bell rings at 8:15, you are invited to stay for our Parent Focus Group. Help us better meet the needs of families and students by participating in a conversation about your perspectives as parents and guardians.

Digital Citizenship Message of the Month

Developing healthy habits goes beyond brushing teeth and eating vegetables. Our digital health matters too. Encourage your child to notice how technology affects their mind, body, and mood.

Try asking: “How do you feel after being online—tired, happy, grumpy, anxious, inspired?”

Supportive conversations and positive role modeling help families:
✅Take tech breaks
✅Balance screen time with offline activities
✅Create device-free times and spaces

Create or revisit your Family Media Use Agreement to get started. https://cnyns.org/4axzCXy Let’s build a healthy digital culture—together.

Lost and Found is FULL

Families, please, please check our Lost and Found area and take your students’ items home. We want your students to have their clothing and other items! Any items not claimed by Friday, March 13, will be donated.

Needed: Career Day Volunteers

Families, we are looking for volunteers to come to classes to talk about your career!

Career Day is Friday March 27 @ 8:45-10:00 AM (arrive by 8:30 AM).
Each volunteer will go to four different classrooms for 15 minute each. As a volunteer, you will introduce your career, share a typical workday with an engaging story, explain why you chose this path, include a fun activity or visual, leave time for age-appropriate questions and answers.

If you are able to volunteer and talk with students about your career, please click HERE to complete the form or scan the QR code on the flyer.

You must also complete the Canyons District Volunteer Application (Background Check) if you haven’t done so already. This must be completed EVERY school year so make sure you have submitted a current application.
