Thrive Time Focus of the Week
This week, during our Thrive Time lessons, we’ll dive into planning for problem solving and using positive self-talk to stay motivated. We’ll practice writing our own goals and learn how to set both academic and personal goals. Plus, we’ll explore the 5 steps of a SMART goal, building on everything we’ve learned about staying focused, flexible thinking, and having a growth mindset to help us succeed!
Families, take time to talk about these ideas with your students at home as well! We can all practice these skills every day!
Free Groceries Tuesday
Tuesday, March 10, is our next Mobile Food Pantry at 3:05pm. Students and families may pick up free groceries at that time; please remember that those bags can be heavy for young students to carry so plan accordingly.

🍟🍔 Tuesday, March 10, is our McDonald’s Spirit night from 5:00-7:00pm. Join us at the McDonald’s at 425 W 7200 S in Midvale! When you make a purchase through the McDonald’s app, in the drive thru, or in store, you help the PTA earn money for our school, for field trips, staff dinners, prizes, and more! Some of our teachers and staff will be at McDonald’s that night to serve you!
Lost and Found is FULL
Families, please, please check our Lost and Found area and take your students’ items home. We want your students to have their clothing and other items! Any items not claimed by Friday, March 13, will be donated.
Needed: Career Day Volunteers
Families, we are looking for volunteers to come to classes to talk about your career!
Career Day is Friday March 27 @ 8:45-10:00 AM (arrive by 8:30 AM).
Each volunteer will go to four different classrooms for 15 minute each. As a volunteer, you will introduce your career, share a typical workday with an engaging story, explain why you chose this path, include a fun activity or visual, leave time for age-appropriate questions and answers.
If you are able to volunteer and talk with students about your career, please click HERE to complete the form or scan the QR code on the flyer.
You must also complete the Canyons District Volunteer Application (Background Check) if you haven’t done so already. This must be completed EVERY school year so make sure you have submitted a current application.
Spring Soccer at Copperview Rec Center
Copperview Recreation Center is hosting their Spring Outdoor Soccer starting March 28. See flyer for registration information; they do have opportunities for scholarships.
Big Smiles Dental Clinic is Coming
Big Smiles Dental Clinic will be here May 4-6. Consent forms will be sent home with students soon; you may also complete the consent form online here: https://www.myschooldentist.com/MECAUT_schsrm if you are interested in having your students go to the dentist here at school. Please be sure to complete all requested information.
