Lifelong Learning and Personal Growth

A Message from the Principal

Dear Midvale Families,
I wanted to let you know that I will be taking a medical leave for six weeks beginning on March 26. During this time, our amazing staff will continue working as usual, supporting your students and helping them learn and be successful each day.

While I am away, our Assistant Principals, Mrs. Willson and Mrs. Brown, will be taking the lead. I have full confidence in their leadership and know the school will continue to run smoothly under their guidance.

I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of the Midvale Elementary community. The partnership between our school and families helps our students learn, grow, and succeed. Thank you for the trust you place in our staff as we work together to support your children. I look forward to returning and reconnecting with all of you in May.

Sincerely,
Carolee Mackay
Principal, Midvale Elementary

Thrive Time Focus of the Week

During our Thrive Time lesson this week, we’ll focus on persistence by using positive self-talk and choosing how we react to challenges. We’ll practice monitoring our goals and dive deeper into understanding the difference between a growth mindset and a fixed mindset. By using a growth mindset, we’ll keep building focus, flexibility, and problem-solving skills we’ve learned to keep growing and reaching our goals!

Families, take time to talk about these ideas with your students at home as well! We can all practice these skills every day!
