RISE Testing Begins Next Week

End-of-year testing, called RISE, begins on Monday, April 27, for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders, and continues through Thursday, May 7, with make-up testing held on Fridays and the week of May 11.

Here are a few things that families can do to prepare students at home:

  • Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and eats a healthy breakfast.
  • Make the morning of testing as relaxing as possible by arriving to school on time. Testing begins right away in the morning so students must be to school by 8:15am so they are settled in and ready to begin.
  • Encourage children to focus and pace themselves without rushing. It’s important for them to take their time, and read each question carefully.

Tuesday is our next Fresh Produce Market

Our Fresh Produce Market will be available again tomorrow as well as each Tuesday through May 12. A parent/guardian can pick up a bag of fresh fruit and vegetables at no cost. It is first come, first served; we have a limited number of bags. The bags are typically ready to go by 2:00pm. We will have them inside in the entryway and then move them to tables outside so please check both locations. We are so pleased to be able to offer this opportunity for our families once again!

Family Booster Night

We are hosting our first Family Booster Night on Tuesday, April 28, from 5:30-7:30pm. The theme is our beautiful state of Utah! Please join us! Check out your students’ projects from Art, Drama, Library and STEM. Participate in fun activities such as finding fossils, designing your own fossil, making crafts, exploring Utah, and more! Enjoy foods associated with Utah in the cafeteria. Watch the school play at 6:30pm. We are going to have great time!

Thrive Time Focus of the Week

This week, we’ll focus on empathy—what it is and how we can truly understand and share others’ feelings. We’ll practice empathizing with others, respecting different opinions, and putting empathy into action. We’ll also learn to recognize verbal and nonverbal cues that help us connect more deeply. Building on everything we’ve learned about community, culture, and strengths, these lessons will help us grow even stronger together!

Families, take time to talk about these ideas with your students at home as well! We can all practice these skills every day!
