Chief Example for Others (CEO) Character Trait for April

Compassion

Welcome Back!

We hope that everyone had a refreshing Spring Recess last week! We are ready to make the most of our last seven weeks of school; we still have a lot of learning to do. Here are some ways to help your students as well as teachers:

  • Good attendance is critical for learning! Be on time, every day, ready to learn.
  • Students need sleep to learn and grow. Continue with consistent bedtimes with no electronics that disrupt sleep. Elementary-aged students need 9-12 hours of sleep per night!
  • Remind your students to continue to show Mustang PRIDE at school. Ask your students what the letters in PRIDE represent (Hint: PRIDE stands for Peace, Responsibility, Integrity, Determination, and Excellence) and how they can demonstrate these character traits!

Free Produce and Groceries

Tomorrow, we have two opportunities for free groceries for families. Families may choose one or both options!

  • Free Fresh Produce Market starting at 2:00pm for up to about 50 families! Adults must pick up the fresh produce.
  • Free Groceries from the Utah Food Bank’s Mobile Food Pantry at 3:05pm for up to about 140 families! Students or family members may pick up these items – remember, they are heavy!

Thrive Time Focus of the Week

This week in our Thrive Time lessons, we’ll learn about what culture is and how it shapes who we are. We’ll recognize strengths in ourselves and others through collaborative storytelling and teamwork. By identifying our unique strengths and working together, we continue building respect, belonging, and connection in our community. Let’s make it a great week of learning and growing!

Families, take time to talk about these ideas with your students at home as well! We can all practice these skills every day!

News from our PTA

🌷 The next PTA meeting is Monday, May 11, 3:30 pm, in the school library. Parents, we need you there!

  • 🙋🏽 We need parents to be on our PTA Board for next school year. We are in need of parents to sign up to help, to take on even one event. A very small group of parents has been doing the job of many, and we need more parents to help them out. If you can spare a little time with a great group of parents to make an impact on the whole school, please contact Erica Arche or Jessica Brown.
