Chief Example for Others (CEO) Character Trait for April: Resilience

RISE Testing

End-of-year testing, called RISE, begins tomorrow for 5th graders and will continue mostly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays through May 16 (and the next week for make-ups). 4th graders begin next week, and 3rd graders will begin the week after that. Here are a few things that families can do to prepare students at home:

  • Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and eats a healthy breakfast.
  • Make the morning of testing as relaxing as possible by arriving to school on time. Testing begins right away in the morning so students must be to school by 8:15am so they are settled in and ready to begin.
  • Encourage children to focus and pace themselves without rushing. It’s important for them to take their time, and read each question carefully.

Fresh Produce Market is back!

Our Fresh Produce Market is back starting tomorrow (Tuesday)! A parent/guardian can pick up a bag of fresh fruit and vegetables at no cost. It is first come, first served; we have a limited number of bags. The bags are typically ready to go by 1:30pm. We are so pleased to be able to offer this opportunity for our families once again!

Spring Drama Performance

Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm, our After School Drama Group will be performing Lost in Space, a Play with Music, written by our very own drama teacher, Mrs. Nelson. The performance will be about 30 minutes and is free to everyone. Please join us!

Family Matters Friday: Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast

On Friday, April 25, we will be having our Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast at 7:30 am. This breakfast is for all of the amazing adults (and their students) who have taken their time to volunteer here at Midvale Elementary School over this past school year. Please RSVP to Heidi Sanger so we know for how many to prepare!

When the bell rings at 8:15 am, parents are welcome to go to class with their students for Morning Meeting. Please refrain from bringing smaller children to classrooms.

Looking Ahead:

Tuesday, April 22: Earth Day! Wear green or blue to represent our earth!
Tuesday, April 22: Fresh Produce Market starting at 1:30pm until gone (every Tuesday through May20)
