Inspire Conversations as a family about safe and positive tech use with Family Tech Planners.
Entertainment and tech have the potential to spark meaningful conversations and screen time has become an important issue for families. Examples include how much time I’m spending with technology, how I’m being kind and inclusive online, and making wise choices with the content I choose.
Utilizing family tech planners are a great way to help your kids manage their screen time and come up with a shared understanding with your kids of how your family makes the most out of entertainment and tech time.
To find tech planners for children of all ages, visit https://tinyurl.com/csdtechplan.
Spanish versions of tech plans are also available on this website.
School Nursing Services
We have a fabulous school nurse at Midvale Elementary who is here to help students stay healthy and safe. She is available to check on students who aren’t feeling well or have gotten hurt, provide medication and care as directed by a student’s healthcare provider, give school-required vaccinations, provide vision and hearing screenings, facilitate school-based telehealth appointments with Intermountain Healthcare right at the school, and so much more. Please call the school office and ask for Nurse Tara with any questions or concerns, 801-826-8725.

WIDA Access Testing Continues, Opportunities for Extra English Language Practice
To our families of Multilingual Learners (children who are, or have been, consistently exposed to multiple languages especially at home):
This is the last week of WIDA ACCESS Testing. The WIDA ACCESS test measures our students’ English language proficiency across four language domains: reading, listening, speaking, and writing.
Testing schedule:
Writing Test
Week of February 10th-14th
Below, are some good reminders for the upcoming test:
- Get good rest during the weeks of testing.
- Eat a healthy breakfast before testing.
- Do your best! There’s no need to study, as this test measures what students already know.
ALSO, if your student needs extra practice with English Language skills, they can benefit from extra time using Lexia English online. If you don’t have a device at home (computer, Chromebook, tablet, etc.), we have openings in our Morning Club at 7:30am, or ask Heidi Sanger about options for a Chromebook to use for Lexia at home.
Thank you for your support!
