Monday Mustang Message
February 6 – 10, 2023
- Happy National School Counselor Week to our favorite School Counselor, Christie Reynolds!
- Attendance Message: Did you know? Children who attend school every day or miss at most 1 day a month, are more likely to graduate from high school.
- It’s important to know the school calendar. Visit https://www.canyonsdistrict.org/calendars/school-calendars/#514-520-2022-23 and click on K-12 Calendar Approved before planning family events or travel. We also post important calendar information here on ParentSquare and on our school website: midvale.canyonsdistrict.org.
- Do you know how to check your child’s attendance? Log in to your Skyward Family Access account (the same one you use to register) at https://www.canyonsdistrict.org/skyward/ and click on the Attendance tab on the left side of the screen. If you need your login ID, please reach out to the school office for assistance.
- Weekly Numbers for January 30 – February 3:
- We had an average of 104 students absent each day last week, with 131 students gone on Friday. That is MORE than an entire grade level gone from our school. If you are having trouble getting your student to school, please reach out to your student’s teacher or our administrative team, Mrs. Reynolds, Mrs. Caldwell, or Ms. Mackay. We are all here to help!
- We celebrated students who DID attend school on Friday with drawings and prizes. These students were the recipients of our big prizes; other students also received prizes. We will do another drawing this coming Friday.
- Our Building Leader Team, consisting of our Principal, Assistant Principals, Instructional Coaches, a Teacher from each grade level and the resource team, worked together to create a set of Midvale Commitments. These were shared with our faculty, and now we would like to share them with our families. Each week we will share one of the six areas of focus:
Instruction
We commit to maximizing the time with
our students by being present and
engaged every day.
We commit to using high quality
assessments as a tool for students to
demonstrate their knowledge.
We commit to being intentional with our
lesson planning by being focused on the
core standards.
