Chief Example for Others (CEO) Character Trait for May: Lifelong Learning and Personal Growth

A Message from the Principal

As we enter the final month of the school year, there is still so much important learning happening in our classrooms. While summer is near, this is a time to stay focused, consistent, and present. Every day counts, and we want to make sure all students are here on time, every day, and stay for the full school day.

Getting enough sleep at night is especially important so students can come to school ready to focus, participate, and do their best—especially during end-of-year assessments and classroom activities.

With the beautiful weather, we’re also seeing more students riding bikes and scooters to school. Please be extra cautious in the drop-off lane, watch for children crossing, and remind your child to always use the crosswalk and “walk their wheels” when arriving on school grounds with a bike or scooter. Safety is everyone’s responsibility, and together we can make sure every student arrives and leaves school safely.

Thank you for your continued support as we work together to finish the year strong!

RISE Testing Continues

End-of-year testing, called RISE, is occurring this week for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. Testing occurs on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (except for make-ups) through May 16.

  • Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and eats a healthy breakfast.
  • Make the morning of testing as relaxing as possible by arriving to school on time. Testing begins right away in the morning so students must be to school by 8:15am so they are settled in and ready to begin.
  • Encourage children to focus and pace themselves without rushing. It’s important for them to take their time, and read each question carefully.
