Chief Example for Others (CEO) Character Trait for October Resilience
Free Groceries!
Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 13, is our next opportunity for students and families to pick up free groceries at our monthly Mobile Food Pantry at 3:05pm!
Thrive Time Focus of the Week
This week, we’re starting our next Thrive Time unit called Building Resilience. In this unit, we’ll learn the difference between basic emotions like happy or sad, and more complex emotions like frustrated or anxious. We’ll also learn different ways to cope with our feelings. Let’s make this week great by being emotion detectives – noticing our feelings, using specific words to describe them, and remembering that all emotions are important messengers that help us understand ourselves better!
Learn More about Spanish Dual Language Immersion
Please join us Tuesday evening at 5:30pm to learn more about our Spanish Dual Language Immersion Program!
The Dual Immersion Program provides opportunities for students to learn to speak, read, and write in both English AND Spanish, celebrating and preserving the language and culture of Spanish-speaking countries around the world. Immersion programs are a great way to challenge students while preparing them to compete in today’s world. Elementary students spend half the day in an English classroom and half the day in a Spanish classroom.
Applications for Spanish Dual Language Immersion are being accepted online now through Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2026, for the 2027-28 school year. We also have openings in some grade levels for the current school year. We will be available to assist you in completing these online applications at the event tomorrow evening!
Hurry and Apply for Thanksgiving Meals
Thanksgiving Heroes is offering full, uncooked Thanksgiving meals: a turkey, potatoes, etc. for families to prepare during Thanksgiving week. Deliveries will be taking place anytime on Saturday, November 21. We are also working with another organization called Teachers for Hope that offers cooked meals delivered on Thanksgiving Day, in case your family is unable to prepare a Thanksgiving meal but would still like one.
If you feel that one of these options would be helpful for your family and you would like a meal provided to you, application forms are available in the front office at the school. If needed, we can also send an application home with your student; reply to this message if this would be helpful and whether you would like an uncooked or cooked meal. Applications are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Please complete only one application per family.

Family Survey
Thank you to everyone who has already completed our Title I Needs Assessment survey!
Right now, we have received responses from about 20% of our families. Your feedback is crucial in shaping our school programs, determining resource allocation, and ensuring we are supporting your child in the best way possible.
If you haven’t had a chance to fill it out yet, we would deeply appreciate a few minutes of your time. Every voice matters, and we want our goals for the upcoming year to reflect the needs of our entire school community.
