Monday Mustang Message – October 27, 2025

We have a busy week ahead! Please read carefully!

And have a great week!

Family STEAM Night is tomorrow evening!

Our fall Family Night is tomorrow, Tuesday, October 28, from 5:30-7:30pm. Join us for activities and games related to STEAM, or Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Code a mouse to follow a path, learn how cotton candy is made and then taste this sweet treat, eat some pizza, build tracks to race cars, learn how to play a xylophone, meet a robot named Kevin, and so much more! We are going to have a blast!

Halloween Costume Parade Information

We are celebrating Halloween on Friday, October 31. We will have our Halloween Costume Parade at 9:30am (please note the time change), starting in the school and then moving outside. Families can watch our parade outside in front of the school. The parking lot will close at 9:00am so that families can safely line up along the north parking lot to watch. Please note that since the parade line will pick up classrooms one at a time as it weaves through the school, students will not be outside right away at 9:30….it will take a little time. Thank you for your patience!

A few notes about costumes:

  • Please know that costumes are optional. In choosing a costume to wear to school, note that costumes should not interfere with learning or have accessories that can be used as weapons or weapon facsimiles. See examples above.
  • Costumes may not include a full face mask or have a head covering that conceals the student’s identity. Face painting is allowed, but must be done at home prior to coming to school. See examples above.
  • If your student does not have a costume but wants to dress up, we will have some extra costumes for students to wear just for the school day.

Please let us know if you have questions or concerns!

Final Call for Book Blitz Jr.

Book Blitz Jr. is a literacy competition for 3rd – 5th graders, designed to foster a love of reading by introducing students to a variety of books by acclaimed authors outside of the school curriculum.

The program encourages reading and writing and provides prizes and incentives along the way to encourage participation. Participants read at least 4 books from a list of 12 District-chosen books and turn in a short summary, compete in teams using their collective knowledge of the books, culminating in a grade-level competition in the spring. The winning team will continue on to the District level to compete against other winning teams!

Students will meet BEFORE SCHOOL on a FRIDAY once per month in October, November, and December, and more frequently in January-March to prepare for competition. Our first session is Friday, November 7, from 7:50-8:20am.

Please contact Heidi Sanger on ParentSquare with any questions. To register your student, click below to complete the form.

Lost and Found

Please come and pick up your student’s lost items! Anything not collected by Friday, November 7, will be donated.

Winter is coming and we always see coats being lost and forgotten. Please put your child’s name in all of their belongings so that they can be returned to them if they are misplaced.
