Family Conferences this Week!
We are so excited to have families meeting with teachers this week! This is a great opportunity for families to ask questions about how their students are doing and how they can help them at home.
All students who attend conferences with their families will be able to choose a book. If you already had your conference and your student didn’t get a book, please just let us know and we will make sure they get one.
Remember that due to conferences, Thursday is an early-out day. School will release at 1:25 pm. There is no school for students on Friday, September 26, or Monday, September 30.
Free Flu Vaccinations at Family Conferences
CNS will be providing flu vaccines to students and families from 4:00 – 7:00pm on Monday, September 22, and Tuesday, September 23, during family conferences at Midvale Elementary School. Bring your insurance information if you have it; vaccines will still be provided to students and families without insurance.
Breakfast Reminders
Free breakfast is available to all students enrolled in Midvale Elementary School. Hot breakfast with choices is served from 7:50 – 8:10am. If students arrive after 8:10am, they should line up with their classes so their teacher knows they have arrived. Teachers will excuse those students who arrive after 8:10am and still need breakfast to get cereal, fruit, and milk, which is available from 8:15 – 8:35am.
If your student arrives prior to 8:10am, please encourage them to get breakfast at that time. Instruction begins right away when the bell rings and students who go to get breakfast and then eat in the classroom miss participating fully in the class activities.
School breakfast is only free for students. If adults or younger children would like to eat breakfast, tickets can be purchased in the front office for $3.00 exact cash only. Please do not eat from student trays; this could result in losing the entire free breakfast and lunch program for the school.
Thank you for understanding.
Parking Lot Safety – PLEASE READ
Parents, please help us keep all students safe before and after school by following the parking lot guidelines:
Parking Lot and Loading/Unloading Procedures
- Obey ALL traffic signs, drive slowly, and pull all the way forward. DO NOT drop students off in the bus lane in front of the flag pole!
- All students should enter or exit the vehicle on the passenger side, in the unloading/loading zone next to the sidewalk. No vehicle doors should open on the driver’s side of the vehicle.
- Students are not to walk between or behind stationary cars. Use crosswalks and sidewalks only.
- Drivers must remain in the car unless the vehicle is parked in a designated parking stall. Parents who need to escort students into the building must use a parking stall.
- Drivers should have students ready to exit the vehicle when they reach the pick-up/drop-off area. When students have safely exited the vehicle, the driver must leave immediately to allow others to drop off in a timely manner.
- Utah’s Seat Belt Law: ALL passengers must wear seat belts in all seating positions and children up to age 8 must be properly restrained in a car seat or booster seat. Children under 13 should ride in the back seat for maximum safety! https://clickit.utah.gov/
Please be respectful of school staff directing traffic in the parking lot. They are there to keep kids safe.
