Mustang Message: Registration, Back to School Night, and More!

Get Ready to Register for School!

Registration for the 2026-27 School Year Begins August 3

Online Registration opens Monday, Aug. 3 at 8:30 a.m. and will be completed in the new Skyward Qmlativ—the same Skyward you know, now with a modern design and easier navigation. Skyward Qmlativ can be accessed online or through the mobile app. Families who use the Skyward Mobile App will need to remove the current app and install it again after the transition. Online registration must be completed for each student every year.

Families will use their Skyward Family Access UserName and Password to begin the registration process. You may complete this process at home, or Midvale Elementary School will have computers and staff ready to assist families in completing online registration on August 3, 4, and 5, from 9:00am – 1:00pm, and on August 6 from 1:00pm – 6:00pm. Additional assistance will be available at Midvale Middle School on August 5 from 4:00-7:00pm and at Mount Jordan Middle School on August 6 from 4:00-7:00pm.

Back-to-School Night Thursday, August 13

Meet Your Teachers!

This year’s back-to-school event will be held on Thursday, August 13, from 4:00pm – 6:00pm. If possible, we are asking families with last names starting with the letters A-I to come between 4:00-5:00pm, and families with last names starting with the letters J-Z to come between 5:00-6:00. We understand if you need to come during the other time frame.

Families will be able to see the school and classrooms, meet the teachers, get a backpack, and enjoy a hot dog. This year, we will also have face painting, music, balloon animals, as well as clothing for students to start out their new year. We can’t wait to see you!

School Begins Monday, August 17, for Grades 1-5, and Wednesday, August 19, for Kindergarten

Breakfast and Before School:

  • Hot breakfast is served in the cafeteria from 7:50am-8:10am. ***Please encourage your student to eat breakfast during this time if they do not eat at home so they do not miss out on any classtime.***
  • Continental breakfast (cereal, toast, fruit, milk) will be available for students to take to the classroom from 8:15-8:35am if they arrive after the first bell.
  • Outside adult supervision begins at 8:00am. Students are only to be in the cafeteria or outside, not in the halls or classrooms.
  • Please remember that all adults entering the building MUST sign in in the front office and obtain a visitor badge prior to entering the school.

For the first day:
Students will go to their grade level doors to meet their teachers (see map below) except fifth graders who will meet at the front amphitheater area for the first day. When the bell rings, grades 1-5 will all enter with their teachers through the front doors crossing over the red carpet to start off the school year. Kindergarteners will cross their own red carpet in the Kindergarten playground area on their first day of school when the bell rings at 8:15am. Parents are asked to say goodbye to their students outside.

After the first day:
All students will line up at their grade level doors (see map below) at 8:15am when the first bell rings and will go with their teachers to the classroom.
The regular bell schedule is 8:15am – 3:05pm Mondays through Thursdays, and 8:15am – 1:25pm on Fridays.

🐝 We NEED YOU!!! “Bee” Involved! 🐝

Midvale Elementary Families,

Our PTA is down to just three volunteers, and none of us are able to return after this school year. Without new members and leaders, Midvale Elementary will not have a PTA for the 2027–2028 school year.

This year, events will only happen with enough volunteer support. We need you.

Whether you can join, volunteer occasionally, or consider a leadership role, we need you. Please help keep PTA alive for our students!🐝🐝

What does our PTA do?

Our PTA is made up of parent volunteers. The PTA is responsible for: School Spirit Gear (school shirts, etc.), Reflections Art Contest, Classic Fun Center Family Nights, Spirit Night fundraisers, Pumpkin Parade, Scholastic Book Fair, Fundraising to provide money for classroom field trips and other student activities, Teacher Appreciation Week, PTA Carnival, and more!

Back-to-School Night is coming up, and the PTA will be there. Our school, our teachers, our students need YOU. Please visit us that night or reach out to us by email:

Get Involved in the School Community Council

Serving on the School Community CouncilServing on our School Community Council is a wonderful way for parents and teachers to contribute and help improve academic performance at our school. The school receives an annual dividend from the school trust lands. Our council decides how these funds will be used. Last year our school received $95,166.62 from the School LAND Trust Program. The council reviews and prepares other academic plans for our students each year. All plans are reviewed for final approval by our school board. Councils also act in an advisory capacity to school and school district administrations.

Qualifications
Every public school in Utah has a School Community Council. The councils are made up of school employees who are elected by employees and parents of students attending the school. Membership terms are for two years. Elections are held at the beginning of each school year.

Parent members must have a student attending the school at least one of the two years of their term of service. Employees must be employed by the school district at the school.
