  1. Welcome
  • Started meeting at 4:00 pm

  • Jason seconds the motion
  • All members voted agreed

  1. Review of Acadience test scores
  • Carolee sharing presentation on grade level goals and scores
  • Teachers have half days to review data (today and tomorrow)

  1. Land Trust / TSSP updates and review

  • LandTrust $55,536.03
    • Increased hours for support staff for Estela (office), SPED paras, recess aides
    • Books for vending machines for PBIS rewards

  1. Initial discussion of Land Trust and Teacher and Student Success Plans for the 25-26 school year
    • BLT met last week, have not finished discussion
    • Looking at next year, use Title I funds for QTEL – strategies to support multi-language learners
      • Bringing them here to train the faculty the first week of training, since it is taking place of teacher prep time teachers can get paid 16 hours outside of contract hours (July or early August)
      • Discussed possibilities of teacher incentives for students reaching goals for growth and proficiency similar to Copperview with CSI status (seeing if we can use Land Trust and TSSP funds)
      • Asking the District to pull data for students who have been here at Midvale from Kindergarten to 5th grade

  • Questions asked:
    • How do teachers look at their data and gauge where they are at and where they need to go? – Pathways of Progress help us determine where students need to go to meet each goal – to reach the possible students, teachers would monitor progress monitoring data
    • Is there a way to adjust goals so winter scores don’t destroy chances for the end of the year?
    • Will these funds come from an increase in funding or will things be sacrificed? – combining funds and saving from other sources that won’t be needed next year
  • Next month will have more details for upcoming year plans (March 3rd meeting)

  1. School Safety Report
  • January – fire drill, went smoothly with new crisis go and intercom system
  • February – hazmat drill, shelter inside as if a spill was outside
  • Waiting for a bill to pass or deny if they can require apps to be on our personal phones – this may affect using Crisis Go in our school

Questions-

  • What is implemented for student safety regarding immigration laws?
    • ICE can’t just come into our school to take our students. If they were to come into our building, they have to meet with the principal showing any documentation or warrants. We are more concerned with something happening to students’ families while students are at school. We are prioritizing making sure emergency contacts are listed in Skyward (close friends or family, neighbors, etc.) so we can contact them in case of these situations and the student can be released to them. After an hour if students are still here and have not heard from families or emergency contacts, we call Dispatch to help. Eventually if Dispatch cannot reconnect families and students, Child Protective Services will be contacted.
    • We had only about 50% attendance today – Carolee is working with Family Learning Center and our School Resource Officer to ensure all of our students are safe and learning.
    • Students who are super concerned are connected with our school social worker and guidance counselor

  1. Other Items:
  • Nothing added before the council meeting

  1. Adjourn
  • Jason motions to adjourn the meeting, Kikey seconds to adjourn the meeting at 5:25
  • Everybody agree to adjourn the meeting

Next meeting: March 3, 2025
