  1. School Safety Report

This month we did a Secure Drill in which the doors are all locked but classes continue as usual within the building (ex. Recess happens inside the classroom). The Drill went well. We have been asked to put a note on the front doors that there is a drill in progress.

  1. Review safe walking route

    a. Approval for safe walking route
  1.

The map and purpose of the safe walking route was reviewed along with the locations of the crossing guards. Steve R. asked about who is in charge of the crossing guards, which is Midvale City. Carolee will note his recommendation for the crossing guards on Center Street to let students “build up” for a bit so traffic on Center can still flow. No other concerns noted at this time.

Motion to approve the safe walking route: Heidi

School Traffic Safety Committee Review of School Plan for 2027-27 School Year Form was distributed for signatures. Carolee shared the website information for school safety.

Discussed that the parking lot is always noted as a concern. Steve B. noted that it is much better than it previously was; some issues can’t be changed. The challenge is getting people to follow the rules that are in place which is not a unique issue for our school. Plan to continue educating and reminding people to follow the guidelines that are in place.

  1. Digital citizenship review

    a. Approval for digital citizenship

Carolee reviewed the Digital Citizenship information shared from the District as well as our proposed plan which includes monthly messaging on ParentSquare in our Thrive Time messages, a Family Matters session that is focused on digital citizenship, and information shared on STEAM night.

Motion to approve the school safety and digital citizenship plan: Jason
