Monday Mustang Message

April 15 – 19, 2024

  • MONDAY (not Tuesday this month) is our Mobile Food Pantry at 3:05pm. Families and/or students may come to pick up a free bag of groceries

  • Tuesday is our next Tuck You In Tuesday! School Counselor Miss Christie will be reading a bedtime story to us, and there is a version in Spanish as well. You can find the video either here on ParentSquare or on Facebook at 7:00 pm.

  • On Friday, we will be having our Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast at 7:45am. This breakfast is for the adults who have taken their time to volunteer here at Midvale Elementary School over the past school year. Please RSVP to Heidi Sanger so we know for how many to prepare!

  • Friday is also our Kindergarten Orientation for children who will be starting Kindergarten in the fall of 2024. We welcome these young students and their families to join us at 2:00pm.

Looking Ahead:

  • End-of-year testing, called RISE, begins next week for 3rd-5th graders and will continue through May 17 (and the next week for make-ups). Here are a few things that families can do to prepare students at home:
    • Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and eats a healthy breakfast.
    • Make the morning of testing as relaxing as possible by arriving to school on time. Testing begins right away in the morning so students must be to school by 8:25am so they are settled in and ready to begin.
    • Encourage children to focus and pace themselves without rushing. It’s important to take your time, and read each question carefully.

  • Monday, April 29: School Community Council Meeting 4:00pm
  • May 6 – 10: Teacher Appreciation Week!
  • Friday, May 10: PTA Carnival
  • Tuesday, May 21: Midvale Traditions Celebration at the Park at 1:45pm (tentative time)
  • Thursday, May 23: Kindergarten Graduation
  • Monday, May 27: No School – Memorial Day
  • Thursday, May 30: Last day of school, Growth Parade, Early release 12:25pm (note earlier time)
