Monday Mustang Message

May 22 – 26, 2023

  • Friday was a beautiful day for an end-of-year celebration! Students, teachers, staff and families filled Midvale City Park to watch our students sing and dance their way across the stage to commemorate a year of growth and learning. Check out the videos in ParentSquare to see all of the grade levels perform! We also honored three students who had 100% Perfect Attendance this school year with a brand new bike!
  • Thank you to our PTA for sponsoring a fabulous carnival last Friday!
  • Today, our Kindergarteners went through our graduation open house. What a fun morning of smiles, graduation caps, pictures, balloons, and more! Kindergarteners will have no more classes for the school year; they are scheduled to come in at individual times for KEEP testing this week.
  • Our Lost and Found area is FULL of hoodies, jackets, and much more! Please come and find all of your students’ lost items and take them home. At the end of the school year, the items will be donated to a local organization.
  • Tuesday, May 23, is our final FRESH PRODUCE MARKET at 2:40 pm out in front of the school.  A parent/guardian can pick up a bag of fresh fruit and vegetables at no cost to our school families.  This week, we will be getting Mexican squash, cantaloupe, spinach, cilantro, tomatoes, mangos, and some plantains. Please note: this is first come, first served with limited supply for approximately 50 families.  Thank you to NBA Cares, First Utah Bank, Zions Bank and Rancho Markets.
  • Wednesday. May 24: Field Days for 1st Grade (8:50-10:00am), 2nd Grade (10:10-11:20am), and 4th Grade (1:25-2:35pm)
  • Thursday, May 25: Field Days for 5th Grade (8:50-10:00am) and 3rd Grade (10:10-11:20am)
    • Please make sure that your student is wearing closed-toe shoes and sunscreen, as well as a hat and sunglasses as desired (outside only).
  • Friday, May 26:
    • Please leave backpacks and personal items at home on Friday. Students should be taking all of their personal items home earlier in the week and will not have a need for a backpack.
    • Breakfast will be provided as usual. However, no lunches will be provided on Friday.
    • Growth Parade and 5th Grade Clap-Out, 10:00am
      • Families, please join us for the Second Annual Growth Parade! Students are making posters that highlight elements of the growth that they have each made this year. Our parade will begin inside our building at 10:00am for students and will then head outside so that our families can see the kids. 5th graders will be at the end of the parade so we can “clap them out” as they move on to middle school.
      • We will be closing our front parking lot at 9:30am so that families can line both the sidewalk on the north (front) of the school as well as stand in front of the line of parked vehicles. Please be aware that no vehicles will be allowed to enter that area after 9:30am, or leave that area until the parade is over and all students have returned to the building. Following the parade, students will return to their classrooms. If you are taking your student home at that time, please make sure to check your student out with the teacher.
    • Early release at 12:30 pm. Please plan ahead for EARLY release!

Looking Ahead:

  • This summer, READ, READ, READ! Reading every day will help students maintain their skills over the summer break, and it is fun to explore the world through books! Also, principals from our local elementary schools will be going to the Tyler Library on some Wednesdays from 3:00-3:30 to read with you! Check it out!
  • Breakfast (8:30am) and Lunch (11:30am) will be provided this summer Monday through Friday from June 5 – July 28.
  • Registration for fall will begin the week of August 7, 2023. Every student will need to have online registration completed for the fall; this is completed every year.
  • School begins August 21, 2023, for grades 1 – 5.
