    • We do not need to evacuate this month for this drill.
  • Approval Cell Tower money to Principal discretion-Lori
    • We have about $5000 in cell tower funds which is more than previously discussed as there was some miscommunication. Lori requested to move half of the cell tower funds into the Principal’s Discretionary budget. This would be used towards Teacher Appreciation Week at the beginning of May, and would tie in the theme used at the beginning of the year. We would also use some of the money to purchase more items for PBIS Rewards incentives for students. It was noted that cell tower money rolls over to the next school year. Margaret made a motion to move the cell tower money to the Principal’s Discretionary fund; Alyssa seconded. We will request a vote from the members who are not present.
  • Plan for May meeting and upcoming elections- Steve/Margaret

https://www.canyonsdistrict.org/scc/elections/

  • School Community Councils hold elections once a year to fill open seats, and are comprised of parents and school employees, including the principal. Parents make up the majority of the Council, outnumbering employees by at least two.
  • SCC discuss elections, open seats; especially if SCC holds a spring election.
  • If SCC holds spring election, advertise open seats and how/when election happens
  • We have received 4 applications for open SCC seats. We would not need to have an election. Alyssa noted that her neighbor also wants to apply.
  • Meeting Adjourn – Steve/Margaret
    • Maria motioned to adjourn the meeting; Alyssa seconded. Meeting adjourned at 4:18pm.
